On Tuesday Sudbury resident Nicole received the Order of Canada, the highest honour given to Canadian Citizens, for drinking an entire black coffee from Tim Hortons. No sugar, no cream. “This was something that had never been attempted before and I wanted to be the first.” Nicole said while recovering in the hospital from the repulsive ordeal.
The Order of Canada is given to Canadians who make extraordinary contributions to the nation and Nicole has done that by doing something never thought possible. After presenting her with the award the Governor General said “All of Canada was impressed by this amazing and revolting act, you have truly shown us that anything is possible.”
Nicole’s strategy was simple, drink the coffee while it was still boiling to burn off her taste buds and down it as fast as possible. She downed the small coffee in an amazing 9.84 seconds and, after dry heaving a few times, she stood up and proved that she had in fact drank the vile liquid.
When asked “What’s next?”, Nicole responded that she is thinking about drinking a medium-sized black coffee in 2025 once she has fully recovered.
